The wiring in cookers and ovens will start to breakdown over time, typically the insulation on a 10 year old oven/cooker will start to become brittle and might start to crack causing a fail on an insulation test, some times where wiring runs across the internal metal surfaces it can cause an insulation fail if the wiring is old or damaged.
It can be a costly process to locate and fix an insulation fault, the cost of a fix on a standalone cooker could easily exceed £300, for a single fix, this would not be covered under our fixed fee repair, this wouldn't be an economic repair and the customer should consider the purchase of a new oven or cooker.
